This photography podcast discusses the rule of thirds in photography. This rule‚which is more of a guideline suggests that you divide the image that you see through your viewfinder into equal thirds so that it resembles a tic-tac toe board. Depending on what the objects of interest are, you can place them along the dividing lines or at one of the 4 OFF-CENTER points as illustrated in the square diagram below. Doing this generally improves your photographic composition.
In these example images below you can probably see that the off center shots are more interesting or appealing. The centered shot of the garden statue should appear less appealing than the non centered shot.

Hi;
This one was a good one to…I think I will probably listen to it a couple times just to get all the good info from it.
Do you know how hard it is to re-train yourself not to put everything dead centre. I still every once in awhile put subjects in the centre with out even knowing it

Hey thanks for that comment Vig — much appreciated!
Hey Marko. This was a great little tutorial. I really enjoyed listening to it. The rule of thirds is such a fundamental guide that I’ve sometimes forgotten about it However upon inspecting my photos its interesting to see how it just pops up everywhere without me consciously thinking bout it. This tutorial has just gotten me back to consciously making decisions compositions in relation to the rule– I’m just using it as a tool now to get creative. Thanks for the reminder and for the great job on the podcast & blog. I’m listening in
