This is the very end (or is it the beginning?) of the Templeton Gap - a gap in the hills that lets the ocean air and fog come far into the valley, lowering temperatures and making the area along the path very good for agriculture (the avocado groves are amazing). These flowers are on a hill above Whale Rock Reservoir and the Pacific. All along the Gap you can stand on hills and still see the ocean. It's pretty cool.
