Default Abandoned barn - we have them, too

On our way back from Pinnacles, we stopped to see an old friend; an abandoned farm. I'd shot it a couple of years ago and we decided to see how it was faring. This time I went to the barn as well which I didn't before. Maybe I didn't notice it then, but I'm glad I did this time. Actually, it wasn't totally abandoned - a barn owl flew out and over the nearby house as we were walking by it on the way to the car. She was beautiful, but I didn't get any photos. Anyway, here's the barn as the wind whipped by -

I have no real idea when this farm was abandoned, but it has been for decades probably. Judging by the care and attention to detail put into the house and structures like grape arbors and the beautiful fence and gate, it was probably someone's dream gone awry. If you want to see photos, there's a set HERE. I may add to it from the few I took of the house the other day.

Very nice set here, WD. Looks like an interesting place for shootin'.

What a beautiful location! I really like the first shot with the grass in the forground and the hills in the distance. You have it all forground, subject, and background. Gale

I'm liking the second one. The texture and color of the boards, the grass, peering through the open door.
