MA, it was just a lot of the history brush. I am not very skilled with photoshop and know there is a better way to do this. I NEVER use layers and almost exclusively use the clone(healing), history brush, dodge and burn, and that is about the extent of it. It took almost an hour to do this.

These are the steps I used..

Adjust levels/saturation
Set history point to adjusted levels
Desaturate
History brush
Move history point up to when I desaturated the image
Use history brush again to clean up image

No layers involved. Most of you use them, but I for some reason cannot get a grip on these things so this is my method for selective coloring. Ugh. At least I get to listen to music for a while!
