I like the second one better. In the first one, some of the leaves and the end of the one post are a little too "hot", but that might just be my monitor. I do like the reddish tones of the leaves in the first one. I don't know what editing you did, so I don't know if that can be applied to the second one without brightening it up too much.
By the way, you did scuff and kick through the leaves before you left, right?
That's a fascinating dof you got there Jimmy. Kinda wierd to see the leaves so clear through the blurred rails but also see the logs in focus as well.
Not sure which I like best ... I think the first one for me ... I can ignore the slightly hot leaves.
Hey Mad and QuietOne. Thanks for your comments. Not sure about the dof Mad. The photo was taken at F3.5 I have looked and cannot find any "Hot " leaves but then my monitor and my eyes are both very old!Take care guys - jimmy

I prefer number 2. To me it has more context if that makes sense. Also, the first one starts out blurry on the left which I just find a bit distracting.
I find the first one really interesting and have to pick that one.![]()

my vote goes to number 2 - Iggy's context comment describes the feel I get, it pulls my eye down the rails in a natural way
