Chapter 26 in the story of Lisa's Fish Creek adventures:
Today has her up at the crack of dawn heading with camera/lenses/tripod in hand to the creek. She is in search of the illusive winter frosted spider's web (really I was). She decides to avoid the nicely cleared pathways and makes a beeline for the creek. She notices X-country ski tracks and figures it would be a great idea to walk along the tracks...heck, she can walk the paved path on the way back. Walking along the tracks she sees many things. About 2.5 km form where she started from, she takes a step and all of a sudden her left foot sinks about 2 feet lower than her right.
Yes.... she is in about 2.5 feet of beautiful and cold Fish Creek water,,,the surprise sudden drop also caused her to actually fall into the creek on her left side. Fortunately camera does not follow left side in as well although tripod does. She gets out and realizes she has twisted her left ankle something fierce. She decides to hobble back (2.5km) to bus stop and call it a day. Limping on her good right foot and covered in ice from head to toe (water is now freezing to pants and jacket) She notices the elusive catch she had been looking for.
Now she is back at home desperately wanting a glass of wine to ease the throbbing pain in her foot yet cannot walk to wine store.
