No ones stopping you from going swimming. I've seen the video of the Canadians popping up in the hole in the ice.

You could swim in that lake in my photo all night long if you wanted. It's probably about 26 C

I am sorry- I don't do cold swimming! And then there's no basking after on the beach after. The closest I get to swimming in winter is to go in a friends hot tub outside.
