A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
Yes, it was handheld, 1/2500 at f5.6 using this lens:
Nice shot! Shooting the moon handheld can be tricky, but this one is really good.
Listen, three eyes, don't you try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.
MA - incredibly bright here is screen shot of the data from the raw file from the Nikon View NX software. Forty Two - it took me about 10 or 12 tries to get this.
Although I must admit I don't see any noise at all, I must ask: why did you use ISO3200? The moon is usually bright enough to be shot at ISO100 and then you'll get a shuttertime in the range of 1/125, which means you probably could have gotten away with shooting handheld at ISO 400. Which should be cleaner then ISO3200. But I'm really impressed by the quality of the shot. If you hadn't told me it was shot at that ISO setting, I'd never have guessed....

Nice capture. That is the one thing I'm jealous about with respect to the Nikon line. With my Rebel XSi I see noise at ISO 400. :(
