interesting use of selective coloring... almost looks like the trees are burning...

I quite like this Kat. But what was the 'oops'?

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
I decided today, before I left my house..to just voyage with my camera and tripod, no bags (camera bag was left outside for the cold). Had a great sky, so I put on my Circular Polarizer thinking yah..I'll just do shost with this.
Off I go..to take my shots and realized I had a ND filter on.. 4. No pockets to put it in..no bag that I though I wouldn't need being lazy and all. So bang..dark noisy photos that just didn't look right. Hence the BW..had to do something but loved the color of the tree.
Lesson learnt..bring camera bag..or at least have pockets to put a 100 filter in. Grr..

Ha, I like this shot. I think you did a great job. You might want to continue trying that technique a few more times. I often intentionally leave gear in my car or at home when Im out so it forces me to work within my limits. It often forces you to think outside of the styles you are used to thinking in.
Regarding your oops, I thought you might have been walking down the hill and slipped on some ice and bruised yourself or tore your pants and had to return home early. Just seems like that yould be your style.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!
LMAO..yah that would be my oops! With two left feet you just can't help it!!!
I just can't stand lugging everything that I never use. But of course..the one time I don't..

I know you have two feet still. Realize this though, even with 4 feet, Kats still sometimes land on their back. So for you I just dont think there is any hope. :-)

Cool shot Kat. Lovely PP.
I'm sure we have tried to travel light before and regretted not having something or other...that's why I usually end up carrying so much

Well for a supposed oops I am liking it, think it turned out very nicely. Sometimes it just works out, if you would have had a bag or pocket you would not have taken this cool photo.
