You obviously just did it the way that came naturally to you and it works, I always find it interesting when someone see one of my shots and says; "Oh you must have taken a workshop with _______ it looks just like one of his shots."

If someone said that to me I think I would respond with "Ouch!" That seems a little insensitive IMO.

Love the image too btw Hodaka!

Thanks everyone. So I listened to the podcast last night.
I spent a lot of time trying the shot from different points on the creek, and different angles. This is where my big old Manfrotto 055 really came in handy. This particular shot had the legs spread almost flat, with the camera right down in the rocks. The sky was quite bright (it was 11AM), but I was in a bit of a hollow where it was mostly shade - not too many harsh shadows. I managed to get interest in fore/mid/back, although I think some of the trees on the right may be a bit distracting. I also have a couple rocks in the fore that help draw the eye in a bit. I think if I get another chance this year, I see another spot to shoot from, too.
PP: yes, I did a little tweaking. I had to remove some lense flare, and I tweaked the colour slightly. Strangely, not dodge/burn. Overall, I am very pleased with this one!
