Off in the distance is a spit of land that is one end of the ferry ride across St. Ann's Bay on Cape Breton Island. You could underhand a ball across the span it's that short, but they remain steadfast in that a ferry will stay and no bridge. A lot of history to the area and I think it's a sensitive issue dealing with land claims and whatever. However, it was a rainy, miserable day for photos between snow, rain and wind. This area is the starting or ending point for the world famous Cabot Trail which goes around the island. Thousands of people in the area this month for a Celtic music gathering of musicians from around the world. The colors are out in force, but I wish the weather would co-operate. I know the music is flowing pretty good . . .
