    Default No Exit

So I dragged my son out to Kananaskis for one last ditch effort at a photography outing before the real Canadian winter makes me more or less homebound again.

But the snowy/low cloud haze out here on this day made all the shots I chimped look really bland. They were seriously lacking punch, so like Emeril would say on his lame old cooking show...BAM! I decided to start bracketing shots for HDR. I know I get carried away with the post processing to many of you good folks tastes but this time it was really justified....honest....I can post a really bland non hdr shot if you want proof!

And it turned out that it was Pentaxium World Pentax Day and it just so happened I brought my Pentax gear on this trip, so BONUS! I was able to make my little contribution to the Pentaxian community.

Oh, and it's called No Exit for a reason. The Highway that you see in the photo ends a bit further along, so when I saw the NO EXIT sign I decided it was time for a few quick shots and then to turn around and start making my way home. The weather in these parts can change very suddenly and drastically so I did not want to risk navigating a snowstorm all the way back in my crappy little minivan.

Janis Joplin sang something like "Oh Lord, won't you buy me a nice SUV?...."

    Cool scene. Excuse the pun.

Love the lines and ridges on that mountain!

Big time keeper - VERY well done F-8
I also dig the cooler (bluer) feel of this shot as MA pointed out.

Nice shot. Looks great. I've been thinking about attempting an HDR soon but I dunno yet.

On a side note, you can keep the snow and the cold there, I'm still rockin the board shorts, although with a hoodie for the top half...

@ all-thanks for your positive comments, very much appreciated.
@ Marko- yes I think the mixed cloud, late day light, and hazy atmosphere contributed to a cooler cast in the distance, but the HDR brought out some saturation and more of a warmer tone in the foreground.
@ Xenos- I lived about a year and a half in Chilliwack/Sardis, and yes I miss the scenery and the milder weather out there.
