Those are rosehips TT and they do look like little octopi...nice catch on this one Greg!

Thanks for all the kind comments, it's amazing how the Alberta Rose grows all over almost like a weed. By the way the rose hips are a good source of vitamin C and the petals taste good when they are in bloom. Grandma used to make wine from them but that's another story.
