DAY 8 - Last Day - Perth and Flight Home

Day 8 dawned and we hit the road fairly early and headed north for Perth.
Arriving early we headed for Kings Park which a large parkland that rests on a plateau above the city.

I was intrigued by the shadows. Would have liked more time to photograph them

Then it off to the airport. We boarded the plane and were informed, after a delay, that a passenger had arrived on another flight, collected his baggage and checked it onto our flight. The baggage was all loaded but there was no sign of the passenger. Minutes went by while they tried to locate this guy. No luck, the baggage had to come off for obvious security reasons. Took a long time to find his bags. It was 50 minutes later before we finally took off.

The flight home was a bit boring due to lots of cloud. Here's a few shots but most of the journey was with a totally white view.







And that ended our holiday. We wished we had more time and could have stayed longer. It's a holiday we'll remember.

I've spent every free moment after work this week processing these hoping they would be of interest to someone out there.
So a big thanks to all who have taken the time to look at my photos and made the effort to let me know you enjoyed at least some of them.

We all need to know we doing ok sometimes and I appreciate the comments very much indeed.

For those who followed this thread ... I found this shot today of an 11 meter wave being ridden by a surfer who lives up the coast from me.

This photo was taken in the same area that I took the photos on page 3 of the Canal Rocks shots.

Shame we didn't see any surf like that while we were there.

It's a LOT of water to play with isn't it?

Apparently this area is one of the worlds best kept surfing secrets. The lighthouse keeper was telling me all about it when we were there. Waves like that rival Waimea Bay.
