I was looking at a file from last summer and thought I would share this one... it's a place called Botanical Beach on the west coast of Vancouver Island near my former home town. One of my favorite places to go when I'm home.....

beautiful!!! i love BC & its trees... this makes me want to go visit again!
That's unusual isn't it! Not often you see mist and blue skies together. Well ... maybe in BC you do?
Yeah, I've seen it a few times...the fog just rolls in like a carpet from the Pacific into the Strait of Juan de Fuca...it's quite neat.
The beach is really cool too; when the tide goes out, it reveals this sandstone shelf with all these tide pools that have been made from rocks swirling from the tides. Each tide pool its own little environment with all kinds of sea creatures in each one that you can just look at. I will share some more pics tomorrow if you like....
Nive place, but I have to say that this picture is too poor of elements and interest...
Makes me look forward to my hike of the West Coast Trail this summer even more, it's been 11 years since I did it last.
Im going to politely disagree with this. I havent commented on this shot because I haven't really known what to say about it, which is a good thing. It is nice in the sense that it is an extremely simple picture. The rocks in the foreground add some interest before you look into the sky or the trees. As you realize the trees and the sky are not as clear as they should be the summer heat is suddenly less intense. The mist is nicely captured and it feels like a breath of fresh air. Blue skies tell me that the sun is out and it was a great day to be walking around. Nice job, looks like you enjoyed yourself.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!
this shot is in the show your photo thread as well - not the crit section.![]()
