    Default Downtown Baker City, OR

Baker City missed the whole "urban renewal" movement in the 70s. As a result, quite a bit of the storefronts and older houses survived.

Looks like a place with a lot of character. I like some of those windows -t he first one just is too funny. What a great business model, the private investigation business generating work for the other lines of the business.
I welcome all critique and comments on any of my photos

There's a self-guided tour of some of the houses in the area, which we didn't get to. Next time. As for character, Baker City is near where they shot Paint Your Wagon, both because there were areas that weren't built up and because they could find lots of young men with beards. The city was apparently a magnet for the last of the outdoors/mountain man bit back when it was popular.

Thanks, Marko. Folks think it's funny once they notice the businesses.
