    Default The Grand Arch

Still from our trip to Jenolan. These photos show the tunnel cave through which, the road into Jenolan from the Sydney direction, passes. Many of the limestone caves at Jenolan are accessed from within this large cavern.

Looking back at the Grand Arch from the Jenolan village side. These shots walk you into the western side and look back out.

Yep, quiet days. What with you and AT out of commission... Hope you feel better soon. That is a long time to be ill. I do appreciate the continued critiques of our photos. I always learn from them, both of my photos and others.
This place is interesting looking. I like the shots showing the inside, especially 4 and 5 with the people and vehicles: gives a real feel for the atmosphere of the place. Is it your flash that is lighting the wall? You didn't pick up something from the caves, did you?

Very impressive set, M.A. The cave is something else. Really like that bridge. But those ferns! My gosh what kind of prehistoric giant plants are those?!!

Thanks Lorey I'm a fan of old stone bridges and churches etc myself.

MB... thanks also. It's really nice to know you appreciate the critique. The orange lighting comes from orange coloured lights they have set back in the cave. The rest is natural. No flashes used in any of these.

JAS... thank you too. I find it really cool that the ferns are what grabbed you attention the most. I do think they are an ancient plant and, from what I've seen of Australia (which actually isn't that much at all) they aren't particularly common. However, ferns like these are very common in New Zealand where I was born and to where I have travelled several times, so I don't tend to think of them as special.
