Second day of the vacation. In the afternoon we decided to hike the Airport Trail Loop. Somehow it said .6 of a mile. Well, I can take that any day ; for one reason or another this trail did not want to end, though. Up and down we went along the edge of the mesa, covering 750 feet of altitude difference. Finally, after 3.5 miles we arrived back from where we started. My left knee was shot. Anyhow, this was one of the first impressions I got; tip for anyone taking the same trail: do it counterclockwise. This way you will have better light on the mountains in the afternoon. We did it clockwise, starting off right after lunch, with the harshest light. Had we done it counterclockwise, I would have had nice afternoon sun on all this. Hmmmm. One learns ....
