Went out for a little drive to get some pictures and came across this scene.
Pretty cool, looks like some of the lakes around here if they would ever freeze over. Yes we have dead forests in our lakes.
Oh, yes, it's winter. It's even starting to look like it here (finally). I like the way the stumps lead you in a crooked path to the gap in trees, which takes your eye to the trees beyond the gap.
There are so many angles to take pictures of this lake. I liked this one for the reason you gave ... the stumps as a leading line.
Here is a picture from another angle. I'm not sure which one I prefer
Different moods, I think. The first invites you to go see what's there. The second shows a spot to stop and look around a bit, and maybe eventually look for another path.
