Nice control of exposure where the bright spots haven't blown out and you can still see the texture.
Beautifully exposed to show the texture. Did you use any bounce fill light to reduce the extreme contrast? Also, since the image is fairly monochromatic, I wonder how it would look in b&w. Very nice shot!

Thanks for all the comments. The 7D has very good exposure control that allows these difficult exposures to turn out well. Of course shooting in RAW helps a lot.
