Shot 2 is awesome! Love comp and colour. I also dig shot 1
Can you describe the processing, it's way cool.

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
Yes, lovely effect for this type of flora BF, and agree, #2 ftw.
I think Bambi hit it right with the Orton Effect. at least it looks like it to me also.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
First of, nothing else could bring me to The People's Garden in triple digit temps but the lotus. I saw a shot many years ago of fallen petals beneath a collapsing bloom in a pond of lotus that just blew my mind, but it was much tighter than the best I've managed. In fact, this is the third or fourth year and only now have I managed anything close.
It's funny, but crappy light helps because it starts in camera. Shoot wide open and spot meter in a moderately harsh and filtered light in an effort to knock down the background to please you. (post will knock it down even further)
Yep, it's Orton, but on a layer reduced to 50% opacity after having made some curve adjustments to put light where you want it. A little vignette and a frame.
Very nice, I love your editing of these.
