"You have to milk the cow quite a lot, and get plenty of milk to get a little cheese." Henri Cartier-Bresson from The Decisive Moment.
Northern lights shot is excellent... Not a huge fan of HDR when you can tell it's HDR... the colours just seem wrong but as Marko points out it's an excellent composition and the star effect is very cool.
Thanks. I'm going back to this place in 2 weeks before I go back home. I'm hoping to see more northern lights. I only got the tail end of it by the time I got set up.
Nice northern lights! Hope you don't mind one suggestion for the next aurora shot. If you wish to get star 'dots' instead of lines (trails), consider using a faster ISO setting so that the exposure can be shorter. My favourite site to get aurora predictions is SpaceWeather.com -- News and information about meteor showers, solar flares, auroras, and near-Earth asteroids -good luck.
Ya my camera is old and at night noise is very common. I may just try to make longer streaks with the starts next time.
Beautiful northern lights capture Beliveau. Love the whole night scene with the lights in the homes, plus the water reflections. Very nicely captured, and composed shot.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
