It's so nice to see a colour other than beige in the Spring forest. One of the first flowering plants each year are these tiny blue Scilla Siberica. Apparently, they are originally from SW Europe. A few of the white variant - Scilla Siberica Alba - can also be seen. Here are a few shots I took with a 50mm lens and a 90mm Macro lens.
This is their usual appearance - with more sunlight, they open up but still face the ground. To get a good look at the stamen and seed pod, you have to turn them upwards physically - last image.
