This is fab JJJ. Just about everything in this image is working well for me - extremely well done imo!
I even like the fact that the man is fairly close to the edge. It ads a bit of "tension" and theme to the image for me.

Glad you enjoyed this pic Marko. It's one from the vault. I am always looking for new subjects and places close to home to shoot, but it gets harder and harder!
It's taken on the beach ice at Highland Glen, Lake Huron.

Thanks so much Iggy. Do you guys find it hard to get inspired and find new and interesting subjects in the cold months of winter ?

Yep! In the summer I can blast off 1,000 to 1,500 frames in a month. In winter I am usually down in the 300 to 400 range if I push myself. One solution I've found is to find events and friends. I've joined the Sackville Photography club here in my neighbourhood and we went and photographed the annual Polar Bear Dip on January 1st and then I plan to head out to the Eagle Watch with them next weekend or the weekend after. I think this particular January I might break 1,000 frames so it's working... still hard though, I tend to get the winter doldrums :(

Well, my trouble Iggy is I'm not really a people person! I'm quite shy and that's why I haven't joined our local club.
I guess we are all different and that's what makes life interesting.

You sound like most of the photographers I know! hehehehehe... so you are far from alone! Then you need to self motivate. Create a project or instead of a group find a single friend and push each other out. It helps me with both my photography and my karate.
