A really nice place to visit for shooting: the campground on the reserve. The bow river winds it's way though there, and there is a pile of cool stuff to see and take pictures of. This is one of my favorite views from there ... I just wished I could make the outcropping of the rock bounce out of the image, like almost 3D. I suppose your eyes do see it different than a camera can ....

I suppose you could go with a 3-d camera, but then we'd all need the glasses. I do like the differences in the rock in front and the banding on the mountains in back.

Generally the way to do exactly what you are talking about with a still image is to give it a shallower depth of field and blur the background. The other method is to do a side-by-side 3D image. Note that to create one of these it's a simple matter of taking one photo and then shifting your weight to your other foot and take the second photo thereby creating two images from the viewpoint of each of your eyes. Note that you need to point the centre point of your camera to the exact same spot for the best results.
