This is how the locals have a good time round these parts. Some may think its just a bunch of rednecks out having fun, (which it is), but some of these rigs are worth $40,000+ just for a couple days of this.
Very dangerous also. In the last shot where the buggy came through fence is where my husband was standing just moments before, taking shots head-on. Another buggy went through, and travelled further out, in same spot.

Awesome! Coarse being redneck only means that you have without really caring what anyone else is thinking. I say that of coarse with high authority of being accused more than once of being one and not arguing the point back to strongly.

Love the first one as well, especially that grin on the drivers face that you could not knock off with a 2x4!

Nice action shots. Reminds me of my old 4x4 days.

First of all: great set! Love the flying mud. Love the iPhone photographers! Second, I sure hope this was not your backyard, cause I ain't gonna pitch a tent anywhere near them things .... third: they could not have been rednecks .. here in Alberta we call them "conservatives", and fourthly: good to see that the price of fuel is still affordable to waste it on something so pointless. Can you imagine how many good lenses one could buy for that money???

Thanks all, and it was a real blast to watch this and get so close to the action.

Nope, not in the backyard, but only 15 minutes from it.
These guys/gals pour a lot of time and money into this, and usually the whole family is in on it, in one way or another. Many take their children in the passenger seats in the truck classes, and how much would so many of us wish we had a chance to do that. If you could see the look of awe, and the smiles, these guys put on the spectators faces you would not think it was so "pointless". I, for one, love this, and would not miss it for the world.
Not only that, we got hired to do these shots, so it is definitely a plus for us. Have over 2000 shots to go through and whittle down to the best. You should see their faces when we show them the finished product. Just cannot put a price on the looks they get when they actually get to see their own trucks in action, when done right.

My son sent me a video of this when he was up Red Deer way somewhere. They sure did look like they were having fun. Some of these had wall to wall engines in them. We even have some younger guys doing it here in this end of the world.

Cool set HBG! I'll bet the noise was something from those things!
I for one would love to be in one of those rigs....as a passenger!
