....then come on out for a ride along any road or trail around here, and there are literally miles of them. It is just amazingly beautiful.

Yes, definitely agree with you on this, as the harsh sun really does them no justice.
That old miners cabin in last pic looks out over a small lake that is just like a mirror. Just amazing place. Only part is, it is quite a ways back in bush, and would probably be quite dark getting out, and don't know all the trails well yet.

Wow is right, is that naturally occuring or did someone's planting go wild?

No Ed, these grow in the wild up here. I didn't know it until moving here actually. You can literally drive for miles on backroads and bush trails and they are never-ending alongside you. It is just amazing.
Have seen purple, red, yellow, pink, and even a few white ones. I will post a few pics looking down one of the trails next time we get out.

lupines are amazing flowers. I love how they prefer to grow wild. We have them by the dozens in our ditch.

Nicely caught Lupines! We get them up here in the Bay also. I dug up a couple of wild ones for my garden several years back. They transplant easily. However.....two years later they were every blooby where in my garden! They are like rabbits! So if you are thinking of bringing a couple home.....
