Wow! Were they as close as they look? I hope the bird survived!
Sheesh..I can pretty much guarantee this was not taken in Calgary in the last 24 hours!!! Nice blue sky Matt...I like too that you can see the people!

Naaa, it was not. This is a leftover from last year, Frank Lake by High River, Alberta. Went out to shoot in the wetlands there, and this helicoper was cruising about. The area is full of interesting birds, and this duck came awefully close to the machine. Was wondering what "Alpine Helicopters" were doing in the flatlands ... i guess it was some sort of survey, as they were hovering and checking a lot. Oh well...
