One more vote for the first one. You are right it looks very Christmas card-ish.
Quick question: To say that the picture would make a good Christmas card is that a compliment of are you saying that it is a bit cliche.
p.s. In my case I definelely meant it as a compliment.

I don't mean it as negative but I think it is a bit on the cliche side of things. However, if it were use an Xmas card by someone I would feel complimented not insulted. And it will probably be my card for next yearOriginally Posted by asnow

nice set - I like your comp and post in these, have you tried reversing your colour with your B&W

What I meant was try shot #1 as B&W and shot #2 in colour (no change to framing/crop). I think the wider vista in shot #1 will give great tone and contrast in B&W and the tightness of the main element in shot #2 might really make the textures and colours pop with all the snow around it. Just a thought, hope that makes more sense.
