This Is My River Too

Went down to the Bow to take some "gratuitous snow" photos and check on the progress of the Peace bridge. This photo is taken at the Fire Department's rescue boat launch pad. I was somewhat upset to find an overturned shopping cart there.
But then I realized that it in fact represented a lot that is wrong with this world- the homeless struggling in the midst of wealth, our throw away society, garbage along and in the river in contrast to the beauty of the manicured parks but all the wealth ultimately achieved at a great price to the ecology etc, etc.
