Another set of severe storms came through the region again tonight. Had to go out and weather the elements. Quite fun. What I call real eye candy.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!
There was one with multiple strikes but they were close and blew the exposure. This last one was extremely close. It was raining hard and visibility was way low as you can tell. The lightning stuck and stood my hair up on end and shook the ground. Not the time to be standing outside next to a camera on a tripod. TIME TO GO!

WOW, pretty intense shots here. Love the colours, and cloud formations, in the first two. #1 definitely the winner for me though, excellent capture.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
I like that first one best JJ.
I love doing this myself. Unfortunately we haven't had any suitable storms for this in the past couple of years.
Nice series JJ. The colour and dramatic clouds in the first one are very cool.

Cool set jj. THe first and second shots are my faves.
I'm drawn to the second one - the color of the ground and the headlights just give a sense of trying to get home before everything breaks loose.
