Hey, I am not that old, but I have seen one heck of a lot of totally outstanding photos, so my judgement directly relates to that experience.
By the way, I apply the same pickiness to my own work too. :

Come on, Marko. I am sure you will agree that the second shot has much more depth from both the reflection and the sky than the first one and depth is an absolute requirement to avoid a FLAT looking shot.

    good job
The first one has great colour and great sky detail and exposure but more dark area and less detail than number 2 overall and that is the important difference.

funny, i thought the 1st boat shot had more depth due to the tree in the foreground... i think it is that tree that makes me prefer the 1st shot...

ok, wait. i re-looked, and can see what you mean by the 'depth' in the reflection & sky.

Wow, not sure how I missed these. Absolutely top-notch! Sunsets are without a doubt, one of the most overdone subjects in photography, but you've got a group here that is the equal of any I've seen in a very long time. Really excellent work!

OOPS, I meant the first shot of the batch..the red one with the great sky..not the first boat shot.

Perhaps numbering shots in future would help avoid confusion... Just a thought.
