I once tried to buy some software on eBay, but before I was to pay for it eBay contacted me telling me it was illegal software and the sellers account had been suspended. After that I decided not to buy software from eBay just to avoid any problems. Good to hear you are getting your money back.

I have friends who run pirated software and I must admit at one time I did as well. I had always been adamant about not down loading music for free because I have so many friends that are musicians and they shouldn't work for free. The guilt started to get to me about software when my wife pointed out my hypocrisy so I bit the bullet installed a legal version of Windows and all my software that I had. Yes it meant I had to do without some cool stuff but now I never fear updating or the authorizing of my software.

I know some people think software developers make too much and they can afford it, but that isn't all of them. Yes in his hay day Bill Gates made too much money, it was that he couldn't afford the time to stop and pick up a hundred dollar bill. Just remember you still pay for your goods at Wallmart and the Waltons aren't exactly poor.

    End of rant

I bought the software from Ebay with good intentions. the seller stated that they had recieved it as a gift and already had it. Lesson learned-People LIE. Really, I am too old to be surprised by that.

Now I am not sure how sellers can sell it so cheap and when you contact them assure you that the serial number is valid. Is there anyway that they can do this legally for that price?

Crystal, I was able to get my money back by reporting the seller to Ebay. You should do that too.

I understand why you bought it, I had the same intentions, I was attaching the way this seller operates. They are the worst since they steal it and intend to make money with it. Most people who pirate software at home use it for non-commercial use and that is the excuse they use. I can understand that since most big name software is over priced in my opinion.

I hear you. I struggle with the music thing. I don't want to buy a CD, I'd rather download it and pay for it. But I can't find how to do that unless I use i-tunes which is a PITA for us non-i-pod users!

Awesome news!!! If you want almost full-blown features, at a very un-blown price, look into PaintShop Pro. A LOT of power for the buck.

You might want to look into a Microsoft Zune.

I am interested to know what you hoped Photoshop CS4 was going to give you that you are not getting from GIMP?
