    Default Firefox Cool Iris

I've always been an IE fan. I did dabble with Firefox in the past here and there but always found it to have issues showing certain websites.

Today I had another look, downloaded the latest version and added in a couple of cool addons they provide.

One such addon is the Cool Iris photography viewing function. VERY COOL.

A click of a button and you have this scrolling folio of photos to view. A search bar allows you to search in sites such as Flickr and then scroll along in a 3D kind of effect. Click a photo and it becomes larger and displays an icon that will take you to the Flickr Photostream for that photo.

    I like.

    Anyone else tried this?

I tried this but found that it bogged down slow machines. And I felt it took too long to open pics, again on some of my slower machines. I liked it and thought it was a cool effect but the novelty of it wore off for me.

You should try the Exif viewer add-on if you don't already have it. It lets you look at the exif data to some (not all) jpegs, even on the web.

Our PC's are not too old so I didn't see any problems.

    That Exif Viewer sounds cool

I like this better though because it only puts the EXIF data into the properties tab (right click a photo and choose 'properties' https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5673

Hmmm... I haven't tried this one yet... I'll give it a whirl.

On the topic of add-ons, the one I find is a must is Tab Mix Plus. I don't know if you've heard of this before. It lets you control and customize the tabs in ff. Once I used it, I cannot use ff without it. My favorite is that I set it up to open new tabs from my bookmarks and whenever I do a search in the google bar.

Hmmm no ... I only put FF back on today after many years so I haven't seen jack of the add-ons yet. Will check that one out too.

Yeah, I'm not real big on add-ons. But this one take full use of the functionality of the tabs in ff. It has changed my web surfing habits for the better by letting me click less.
