Sepia shots abound this month
Not sure this qualifies as Nostalgia, but I think it does. Feel free to comment on any aspect. Thx - M

I like it! Definatley got that old feel to it! If you don't mind me asking, where did you take it? I think it would be a fantastic photo to go back to with summer ago!
My new blog as of Nov/10

OMG The two Ronnies!
Kat: The name of that show was "Are you being served". I used to watch all those old british sitcoms on PBS. They were great! Some Mothers do Have Em (Frank Spencer) and Benny Hill, Fawlty Towers, On the buses were other favourites of mine. Man that takes me back! Definitely nostalgic!
Bambi ... love that wall. So much character. I think that would provide a host of different photos.
Glad my 'Two Ronnies' shot stirred up some 'Nostalgic' memories for people
I loved the news segments they did ... "This week scientists have learned how to cross a Great Dane with a Bicycle Pump! Now they have a dog that really will 'put the wind up' the postman!"
Poor photos follow no rules, ok photos follow some rules, great photos break some rules, classic photos break all the rules........there are no rules!
Technical perfection is only ever important if it improves the asthetic. It is not the precursor to beauty. Not in art..not in music and not in photography!
Siejones: Thanks for the kind words! Glad you like it.
I can assure you that this is NOT scanned from film. I haven't used a film camera in over 10 years. It is in fact a digital photo from start to finish. The end result took me about 10 mins in Photoshop using toning resembling old news print, and Layers with Overlay as the blending mode and 40% opacity. The only thing I didn't do here was add a gradiant, but I did darken the edges of the photo to get that "old fashioned photo" look. For this particular shot, both the location and lighting are worth more than the processing. Oh yeah, and having a model helps! :-)
Hi Marko, I like the toning of your shot. The only thing that makes me scratch my head is that I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be looking at. Is it the pond? Is it the tree? Or is it the Gazebo which is hidden by the tree which sits between the pond in the foreground? Or is it the duck that was swimming in the pond that just flew away right before you pressed your shutter button? :-)
I guess my intention was that the whole scene was nostalgic and I was hoping that the gazeebo would be one of the key focal points since it and its reflection takes up a lot of space in the photo. Maybe I should have made it more pronounced? Thx - MarkoHi Marko, I like the toning of your shot.
