Actually it's not that hard if you choose the right subject.

In general - pretty girls are the wrong subject for this light.

Lumberjacks, coal miners, gritty guys - it's a stereotype for sure but gritty subjects are better suited to 'gritty' light and soft subjects are better suited to soft light.

Mu husband says the next time they have a tour underground I'm on it. I can't wait to get some photos down there..he says I could get some really creepy ones. I'd love to have a day down there with the miners but that isn't gonna happen..lol

Speaking from a girl's point of view, personally I don't mind the lighting Mad Aussie has used (and no i'm not agreeing with him because he's my Father) it's a different effect he hasn't used on me yet, so something different is good rather than always taking soft photos...Man my eyes stand out in that last one...

MA - The blue you chose is not working for me. It's too unnatural and not subtle enough. I think the shot would have been better without it.
