We met up with my sister and kids last weekend... apparently I should have stopped them rather than standing there taking pictures...
This is a discussion on The great escape within the People photography (portraits, sports etc.) forums, part of the Show your photo (Color) - Landscape & Nature (flowers, mountains, storms etc.) category; We met up with my sister and kids last weekend... apparently I should have stopped them rather than standing there ...
I like this shot very much Richard. Good composition and good color treatment. Thanks for sharing it.
Richard I love the way that you can capture people. you have the ability to tell stories about them that is very compelling.
thanks.

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
Very nice pic Richard, and very cute too. Really like the PP on this.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
Thanks for all the comments guys.
Ma- I simply can't understand why the ladies didn't support me while I was working.
Bambi - I love photographing people, although most of my family is camera shy, I think you are right' sometime its the shots that tell the stories that are the most interesting even if they might not be the most 'technically correct' shots.
PP was sharpening on different layers, overlay layer (for dodge and burn), ran a highkey filter, and then I duplicated the image and turned it to B&W with a sepia tint. Finally I blended this with the original.
(I'm sure there are better ways to do things but I'm just playing.)
That is priceless!
Love this shot. You really caught the true nature of a child's non ending curiosity. I'd like to have seen the boy in the foreground in focus but being grab shot its difficult to make those adjustments on the fly. Love the tonal values here.....gives it an old timey feel. Love it!!!
