Gosh I am the same way! It IS a form of meditation for me and the reason I;ve been out so much is because its time that I don't have to think about anything other than what's in front of me for a few hours.. and then a few hours more processing shots.
Photography has been just wonderful therapy and an important part of a healing process and rediscovery of myself that I've had to do over the last year. For that I am so grateful!
Great shots RD!

I have had very similar experiences while riding. I was in an very intense session wtih my coach and she said 'so we'll stop here now' and I looked at her and said 'why would we do that?'. she looked at me and said 'because it's raining!'. I looked around and it was POURING! never noticed.
I don't know if I do this while shooting because I am often alone so wouldn't notice.

It's funny...I used to run a while back and it was the same type of thing. I would just get out and go...and sometimes I would just get in that same zone. I thought I only ran a couple of km's but when doing a bike ride with the speedometer it was 8-10km's I was running...never even noticed....and I never used an Ipod...always liked to hear the birds instead of music.

Very cool shots. I agree with what you guys are saying about getting in that zone. It's a good feeling when it happens.
