Default Damn! It was A Party

Nice weather meant a large crowd at Olympic Plaza for the arrival of the Torch for the first time since 1988.

The Plaza was the site of the medal awards and entertainment in 1988 and some of that excitement was relived tonight. Here are a few pics of the event.

The Flame atop the Calgary Tower is lit in anticipation of the arrival of the torch.

Wow that's cool! I'll bet there's a few neat shots of this taken by photographers around sunset too.
I've never seen such a close up of the tower before.

This is Riley. She is ready to party! This is one of about two that I actually used flash on. The rest are all high ISO.

These kids are fascinated by the show on the big screen which they are standing very close to.

Unfortunately flash was not really an option most of the time, M.A. Anyway here we go for a few more.

Waiting and finally the arrival! But it went by so fast!

Robin Ainsworth (Perrry) was the mystery runner who brought the flame into Olympic Plaza. She was the little girl who back in 1988 was chosen to light the cauldron in the 1988 Olympic opening ceremonies.
