It was a pretty good evening beginning with a lucky find on the sidewalk in front of our parking space and then some good blues and then the seared sea scallops and crab cakes and then some more really good blues and then some good company and then some more really, really good blues…
I feel like such an a$$ for having filled a 4gig card all shot at f/8. Rookie mistake, I guess. I had the ISO at 3200 which would have given some decent shutter speeds for hand held if I had been a little closer to wide open. I can’t understand why I didn’t realize it at the time. Water under the bridge, now.
I shot a few more on another card at f/2.8, but I bumped the ISO up to 6400 and the results weren’t pretty in the dark areas of the images. I really didn’t expect much. I’ve tried this sort of stuff before and never had much luck. Just don’t have the glass for it. I wish I had thought of it at the time, but I could have had my friend Mare hold my speed light in some interesting spots for me to do some off camera work and that might have been pretty cool. Water under the bridge, now.
Anyway, don’t laugh too hard.
