Love this one... the b&w makes it more interesting. Like the colour (or lack thereof) has escaped the board.

I have to know, if you don't mind telling me, how do people react when you are there taking shot like that. Are you very close or "hiding" with the use of a long lens?

Well, what you see is how they reacted. I was right next to the guy on the ten speed/mountain bike shooting with a 14-45mm. Nobody noticed

Maybe my Canon XSi is noisier but I would think they would look up when the shutter click fired off. I guess I'm just too shy... I'd be worried people would get ticked off at me for taking their photo.

Vancouver is overrun by tourists at this time of year especially in the area of town this was shot in. Just down the street two massive cruise ships were docked. There are cameras going of all over the place. I think people are pretty used to it. I share your fears though and was a wee bit on edge taking this shot. I remember thinking "Screw it!" then hoisting the camera up real fast, dialing the exposure and "Click" I also have the pesky beep turned off

Going back and looking, I'd say you are right. She's looking right at the camera. It was worth it though. Great capture.
