It's quite an interesting composition - unusual for sure.
Not 100% sure how I feel about it - but it's holding my attention.
As for critique - if it were mine - you have nearly clipped edges on 3 sides that are taking my eye out of the frame. I'd burn in the 3 sides by 10-20% - definitely the top right (all the way to 1/2 of the nose) and bottom right just below the lip. Lower left probably 5-10%. The ear 10%. The hair is lacking in contrast as compared to the eye. I'd also burn the shadow detail of the hair at upper left by 20%.
