Yea we had great access, right by the rail shooting through the slats with all the dust and dirt spraying, I was warned and did put a filter on the lens for protection. I used the 70-200 for most shots, but we were so close I had to be at the 70 end most of the time. I also had my 10-22 on my old XSi to take the close pictures going around the barrel as I couldn't have been any more than 10 meters from it. I did get a whole face full of dirt from one horse. The one picture you are referring to I really liked the shot of the riders face and expression.

Great set. You definitely got in close and got some great action. I agree with set 3 but I also am partial to the barrel racing

These are some amazing action captures that anyone would be proud to call their own. Very well done on every one ASnow as I can't pick a fav.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

Hard to pick favourite out of this excellent set of images. The last two of the first 5 really stood out to me then I moved to the next set and went wow! Love some in there too. Excellent stuff.

Thanks Mike. Yea it was definitely dusty. Glad I had two cameras with different lenses. Didn't dare try and change lenses with all that dust.
The pic you chose was the one that stood out to me as well went I went thru my pics.
