Bright sun and fresh snow overnight so I tried to epxose for the cars. White balance was on auto but just did not look right...(to me anyway), so I messed with them all. How did I do??

They look pretty good to me. I like the third one and the last one with the snow coming off the front tire. Gives a sense of motion.
p.s. You beat me to it. I planned a trip to Minden (a couple of weekends ago) to take pictures of their ice racing but was it postponed. (I guess because we had too much warm weather up til then). I still plan a trip there in the next few weeks. We can then compare notes.
Thanks asnow. I'm just looking at them at work here on a bigger/newer monitor and they look ok except for that last one. The car looks a little purple to me and it should be blue.....back to the drawing board on that one. I look forward to seeing your pics from Minden in the future. We have had weather troubles up here as well.....rain one weekend and freakin' cold the next.
Aub. Do you mind if I download the last photo and have a look at the colour balance. I just colour calibrated my new monitor so it should be accurate.
Hey asnow....go for it. Funny you should mention that. I am just sitting here with a Monaco optix xr I borrowed from a friend. Its pretty old but I'm going to have a go at it anyway. I have never calibrated my laptop or pc......this should be interesting!
I checked your last picture with the eye dropper on the white snow and it doesn't seem to be too far off. Are you sure that the car was blue. It sure looks purple to me.
Thanks for taking a look asnow. The colour of the car is a deep blue....I think the term is "royal blue"? In the the right light it could possibly look a bit purple. I'll see what I can get next weekend on this guy.
Nice looking action set there Aub.
Feel free to make comments on any of my shots.
Nice! digging on shots 3 and 4.

Very, very cool... love that last one!
