First off, this is a wonderful portrait, Bambi. A nice even light, excellent focus. Love it. Love the captured smoke from the cigar too.
As for Paul, I'd say he's got a bit of a gruff exterior but a real softy inside. That's the feeling I get, anyway.
Not sure this reveals 'personality' to me but I do like the image.

I also like the image. Great lighting, composition, bokeh. You used that last one to really draw my eye to Paul. I like the smoke drifting up from his cigar too, nice touch. I am not seeing much personality here. Perhaps the combination of sunglasses, the profile, and the relatively limited shoulders/head view obscures that aspect of the image a bit. Nevertheless this is a great portrait. He should be pleased with it.
Lovely portrait shot Bambi.
I would say that this man is a no-guff, tell it like it is individual, but has a real sense of humour under the rough exterior.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
thanks guys! Paul is a gruff, shoot from the hip guy but he's dead honest and a hard worker!!
