cool capture Matt, like the reflection play in this one
" A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it. " Irving Penn
" There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs." - Ansel Adams
Ditto on the reflection. What was he playing?
I was asked to take some images of Bob Erlendson, a seasoned Jazz pianist/composer in Canada. The man is quite stoic, and capturing him during the sound check was quite a challenge. To boot, they were recording that evening, so I had music stands, microphones and people running around to contend with. I managed to get a couple of good shots, and now the challenge laid before me was to make him look "healthier and younger". The man is 80. At 80 you do have age spots, wrinkles and other things showing your long years of experience. I found that changing these features would change the man. But hey, if this is what they want ....
