Hmmm your photography has improved to that point that there can be only 1 answer....ISO 1600 with the kit lens... I'm kinda lucky it is even worth looking at but it was the combo that was working in that weather and lighting conditions.
Time to move up to a camera that can handle low light better...I say treat yourself.....and if that fails just pawn the camera and come in the house all dishevelled and tell your better half you were mugged. Hopefully she'll feel bad and let you make the purchase. ...

Thanks, Marko. I'm already working towards that next purchase... it'll be a little while yet though I'll continue working with what I have for now. Remember, the best camera is the one you have with you
