"You have to milk the cow quite a lot, and get plenty of milk to get a little cheese." Henri Cartier-Bresson from The Decisive Moment.
Interesting. It really makes you wonder about all the wires and what exactly is going on here. She's stuck inside yet you can see reflections of the outside world. Good choice to not use a polarizer here.
I'll be honest and say that I don't get it. If she didn't have the wires on it might make more sense to me but I dunno

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
Very interesting image. Technically, there is nothing you could have done better, imho. Theme wise ... hmmm ... One thing I would watch for, though: having the hands on the pane of glass makes them unusually big for a slim woman like that, they almost look like a man's hands. The wires, well, I suppose this is up to interpretation. I wonder if some other means of entanglement would have suited the title better.
The look in her eyes is perfect, though. Overall it is a very nice capture...

Medical monitoring device of some kind? Is she separated in order to get a good set of readings, or to protect her health? If that's the case, the sad look is understandable, for a lot of reasons.
At first I thought medical monitoring device of some sortaswell, but then I thought maybe the wires and had a similarity to earphones from say an ipod or cell phone. We are attached to and addicted to those devices but at the same time they alienate and in some ways cripple and enslave us. Her manner of dress and standing in the window could represent that we have offered ourselves (metaphorically speaking) to technology.
Then again it could just be a cigar.
It's a Holter Monitor. Think of an all-day ECG.
Thanks for the comments everyone. Andrew has it, it is a heart monitor.
