Default G2, Suggestions if you plan to cover it.

The Group of 8 Leaders and the Group of 20 Leaders are meeting in Ontario from June 25-27, 2010.

Well for anyone planning to shoot the G20 at the end of the month in Toronto from or coming to cover you should see about finding out a group to cover. I am still trying to figure out the logistics of covering, I know people from both Anarchists and Hard core Communists who are the two groups most likely to clash with the cops. My mobility is the issue but I will be scouting the area and talking to some people and see if I can figure out how to cover one or two of the groups.

If your looking for the peaceful stuff look at labour unions, indigenous groups seeking self determination etc. It is the much safer route to go.

I have some one willing to lug my stuff for me and if I get the amount of the info I should I may be able to get in place before hand but they are very fluid so it may not be possible.

If you bring a bandana do not cover your face until the sh i t goes down, you will be arrested just for wearing one which is unconstitutional they will still do it. Get a dry one around your neck and one wet in a zip lock baggie even if your covering peaceful protests, they may end up being pulled in and if tear gas is used you will regret not having the two ready. Bring at least two bottles of water. A small emergency kit. And with the new toy they wasted our tax dollars on to use against civilians, two set of ear plugs, one internal sponge ones and ones that cover over your ears will lessen the pain from the new weapon they just bought and plan to use. outside the bandana around your neck, everything else should be hidden but quickly accessible.

If anyone is covering one of the more militant groups I can give you more advice in PM if needed on what to carry and not carry or talk to the group if possible you plan to cover.

These are two places to get some of the more left perspectives.

Sound interesting...not my cup of tea but when I'll bet there is some excellent opportunities for some interesting work. When it was here in Calgary/Kananaskis several years ago it was pretty peaceful. Some of the protests happened right across the street in the park and to be honest the noisiest part was the police helicopter roaring above! .
Sounds like you have a good idea on how to go about it but just take care anyhow. I hope you get to go and come away with some really cool stuff!

I think only in my dreams I am going lol, I have one idea I am working that may just work, but have to look into some details and it is the G20 not G2, like in the title lol and we are not as isolated as Calgary, Montreal is only 6 Hours, Detroit the same so we get a lot of out of town people as well as our own political radicals. Just in the GTA there is 4 Million people, then add anything within a 6 hour drive you have a pool of about 12 Million possible people that can show up. Holding it in Toronto was a horrible idea and at a cost of at least a billion dollars of Canadian taxpayer money up from the original cost of 260 million dollars, I was unaware we had a billion laying around for stupidity. If they do riot and stores are affected they are not going to be helped by the Government. And all the major bank head offices are just up the Street from the event are not going to be government protected making them obvious targets of radicals. I just think this is not going to go well. Think Seattle a few years back. Anyway I best stop before I go into some political rant and make everyone hate me hahahaaha
