This is in the off topic area because I just got home after shooting Eared Grebes dancing on the water, with fine male displays of spreading their wings. About 400 images only to find my memory card has died.
Oh, man, that bites really, really hard. Any chance that one of the disk recovery utilities will get at least some of them off the card?
Whether you can retrieve the images or not, I hope the display season isn't over and you can get more photos.

Sorry to hear about that. You might want to see if there's some kind of tech person who can pull the data off of it before you give up though. Try a couple of different card readers, you might get lucky...
Sorry to hear of your misfortune Greg. Had a similar incident a couple of weeks ago - found that one of the little plastic divisions between the gold contacts was broken and twisted interfering with it being read. Pulled it off (the offending piece of plastic) and the card has worked fine ever since.
